The Czech lefty entered the tournament ranked world #101 and will rocket to #38 when next week's rankings are released.
🏆 Boulter Breaks Back Katie Boulter fights back against Tamara Korpatsch, defeating the German 5-7, 6-2, 6-1, to lift the trophy in Ostrava(!!!). The 29yo Briton, once ranked as high as world #23, returns to the Top 100 next week after dropping out in November. It is her fourth WTA singles title and second on hard courts after San Diego in 2024.
🏆 FAA Flies High in Montpellier Defending champion Felix Auger-Aliassime rallies past French qualifier Titouan Droguet, 6-4, 6-7⁵, 6-1, to reach his 21st tour-level final. The world #8 rattles off five straight games in the decider after saving two break points at 1-1. Seven of his eight career titles have come indoors, with his 87 indoor match wins the most this decade on tour.
👴 Nothin' But a Number Adrian Mannarino, 37, becomes the oldest finalist in Open Occitanie history, overcoming qualifier Martin Damm, 1-6, 6-3, 6-4. The Frenchman reaches the final after saving three match points against Ugo Humbert in the second round. He faces Felix Auger-Aliassime on Sunday, chasing his first title since Sofia in 2023.
👶 Thai Fighter Mananchaya Sawangkaew returns to the WTA 125 Mumbai Open final for the second consecutive year after defeating compatriot Lanlana Tararudee, 6-2, 3-6, 6-1, in the semifinals. After becoming just the 3rd Thai woman ever to crack the top 100 last year, the 23yo spent 6 months on the sidelines with a back injury.
💬 Serena Sighting! After qualifying for the main draw in Doha, Alycia Parks reveals she practiced with none other than Serena Williams last Monday. The 25yo American, who calls the 23-time slam champion a mentor, says Williams is hitting a mean ball lately. Hmmm...
🚨 Lajovic Hospitalized Just a few days after Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard got hit in the eye with an errant ball and had to retire from his match, Dusan Lajovic crashes into a glass partition while heading to the locker rooms while playing Davis Cup in Chile. The Serbian reportedly suffered trauma to his head, cuts in the lining of his mouth, and possible loose teeth and was taken by ambulance to Clínica Universidad de Los Andes in Santiago.
🎾 USA, One Win Away Ethan Quinn overcomes Fabian Marozsan, 3-6, 6-3, 7-6¹¹, saving four match points to put the United States on the doorstep of a Davis Cup win over Hungary. Tommy Paul sets the tone earlier with a composed 7-6³, 6-3 victory over Zsombor Piros.

In other exciting doubles news, Barbora Krejcikova & Katerina Siniakova reunite for a 1st round blockbuster versus Asia Muhammad & Erin Routliffe.
👀 Rotterdam Draw Doesn't Disappoint Despite a wave of withdrawals including world #1 Carlos Alcaraz, the ABN AMRO Open field is still pretty fire, y'all. This year's edition features three former champions plus top seed Alex de Minaur, who'll take on Arthur Fils in a must-see opening round match-up. Fourth seeded Daniil Medvedev faces Ugo Humbert right off the bat, and 3rd seed Alexander Bublik takes on Hubert Hurkacz. So, again, a pretty great field.
😔 Raducanu Comes Up Short Sorana Cirstea defeats top seed Emma Raducanu, 6-0, 6-2, to take the trophy at the Transylvania Open. The top seed appears to feel the effects of a marathon semifinal against Oleksandra Oliynykova 24 hours earlier, losing serve six times and needing a medical timeout in the 2nd set.
