🏆 Carlos Alcaraz now leads Jannik Sinner by 3,350 ranking points, up from just 550 entering Melbourne. That gap equals a slam title plus a Masters 1000 plus a 500 final. But! Sinner has zero points to defend until May.
🔥 Elena Rybakina has won 20 of her last 21 matches and 10 straight against Top 10 opponents. That great run moves her back to a career high #3.
🎖️ Novak Djokovic returns to the Top 3 for the first time since August 2024. At 38, he reached his 38th major final in Melbourne.
👶 Belinda Bencic and Elina Svitolina become the first two mothers ranked inside the Top 10 at the same time. Ever.
🌏 Janice Tjen is the second Indonesian woman in history to reach the Top 50. Yayuk Basuki, who peaked at #19 in 1997, was the first.
👀 Iva Jovic makes her Top 20 debut at 18yo. She beat Jasmine Paolini en route to her first slam quarterfinal, in just her sixth slam main draw.
🎓 Learner Tien became the youngest American man to reach a slam quarterfinal since 2002. Also! Fun fact; he's now 3-1 lifetime against Daniil Medvedev.
🦘 Maya Joint enters the Top 30 for the first time despite a first-round exit. Sometimes the math just works.
👴 Stan Wawrinka became the oldest man to reach the Australian Open third round since Ken Rosewall. The 40-year-old climbs 26 spots to #113.
📉 Paula Badosa drops 39 spots to #65 after failing to defend her 2025 AO semifinal points.
🎂 Five teenagers reached the Australian Open third round. That's the most at any slam since the 2009 US Open.
🔙 Bianca Andreescu skipped Melbourne entirely, won two ITF titles in Florida, and climbs 66 spots to #162. The comeback trail doesn't always go through slams.
