🎉 Victoria Mboko becomes the 4th Canadian woman to reach the WTA Top 10 in the Open Era. This time last year she was ranked #211, dominating the ITF circuit. Patience pays!
Speaking of patience, 🏆 Karolína Muchová races up 8 spots to perch herself just outside the top 10 at #11. The Czech picked up the biggest title of her career in Doha... more than six years after her last WTA triumph. Quite the feat of patience!
🚀 Jack Pinnington Jones rockets 43 spots to #138 after reaching his first tour-level QF in Dallas. The Brit took down Eliot Spizzirri in a 3rd set tiebreak to get there. A year ago he was still at TCU.
🔥 Marin Čilić climbs 18 spots to return to the top 50 at #43 after his Dallas SF run. It was the former US Open champ's first 500-level SF since 2022.
📊 Luciano Darderi reaches a career high #21 after his Buenos Aires final. The Italian turned 24 on semifinal day and celebrated with a straight set win over Sebastián Báez. The title eluded him, but a new career-high ranking didn't.
⏳ Stan Wawrinka re-enters the Top 100 at #98 after a successful start to his final season. Three grand slam titles and a willingness to grind Challengers will do that.
🔙 Maria Sakkari jumps 19 spots to #33 after her Doha SF. The Greek had been hovering outside the Top 50 for months. One good week in the desert changes everything.
🎂 Emerson Jones rises 18 spots to a career high #144 after a strong run at the ITF W75 in Brisbane. At 17yo and 7 months, the Aussie is the youngest player in the WTA Top 250.
💔 Hamad Medjedović drops 18 spots to #97 despite qualifying into the Rotterdam main draw and reaching R16. Last year's Marseille final points fell off the books and, what can I say, math is cruel sometimes.
📉 Rebecca Šramková falls 21 spots to #103, the week's biggest WTA drop. The Slovak's slide is a points defense issue, not a form one. She's already qualified into Dubai and stands a good chance in her opening round clash with Varvara Gracheva.
🚀 Lloyd Harris climbs 31 spots to #155 after capturing his second consecutive Challenger title in Tenerife. The South African won Soma Bay in January after going out in the first round of qualifying at the Australian Open.
🎉 Ignacio Buse hits a career high #91, surpassing Carlos Di Laura's 1986 mark to become the 5th-highest ranked Peruvian man in the Open Era. The 21yo's grandfather and great-uncle were 1950s tennis legends in Lima. Peru's Davis Cup stadium is named after them.
