πΎ Redemption in Mumbai Thailand's Mananchaya Sawangkaew takes down 17yo Austrian phenom Lilli Tagger, 6-4, 6-3, for the WTA 125 title in Mumbai, wearing Tagger down with slices, drop shots, and precise court positioning in Mumbai's heat and humidity. The 23yo finished as runner-up to Jil Teichmann in last year's event.
π΄ Rolling Back the Years Vera Zvonareva, 41, collects her first tour-level main draw singles win since October 2023, rallying past world #50 Peyton Stearns, 2-6, 6-2, 6-3. The former world #2, who's now taken out three top 100 opponents in Qatar, returned to competition in December after surgery sidelined her for nearly 18 months.
π¨ Under Threat Roman Burruchaga, son of Argentine football legend Jorge Burruchaga, says he received death threats from suspected gambling rings at the Rosario Challenger this week. Spain's Nikolas Sanchez Izquierdo had his match moved to an indoor facility after reporting similar threats earlier in the week.

π Don't Call Her Retired! Svetlana Kuznetsova, 40, tells Punto de Break she never formally announced her retirement after stepping away from competition following Wimbledon 2021. The 2-time slam champion has been busy taking acting classes for a series based on her career, designing clothes, and working with Moscow's Transport Department. But, she says she may still return to the tour.
